The Israeli Army reportedly attempted to rescue a hostage from the clutches of Hamas militants in Gaza, but it reportedly failed. Hamas said that IDF forces were identified by its Al-Qassam brigades, who later indulged in clashes with them. Hamas said a captured Israeli soldier was killed during the clashes and that the Israeli forces bombarded the area to show that it had merely conducted raids.
